Ingredients - Makes 1 cup
- 2-3 cloves (or 8 g) of garlic, roughly chopped
- a handful of chillies (use any of your choice, according to how hot you want the sauce to be)
- 1½ tsp cumin seeds
- ½ cup passata or tomato sauce for cooking
- 1 tsp sugar
- 1 tbsp oil
- ground black pepper
- Salt, to taste
Steps
- Heat the oil in a saucepan. Fry the cumin seeds and garlic until slightly browned
- Add the chillies, passata and the rest of the ingredients and cook for 3 minutes
- Thin out the sauce with a little bit of water, if necessary
- Use immediately or store in the refrigerator in a closed container for 4-5 days
