Ingredients - 60 jamuns
- For the Jamuns
- 3 cups milk powder
- 1 tbsp semolina
- 1 cup pancake mix
- Full cream, to make a dough
- Oil, for deep frying
- For the syrup
- 3 cups granulated white sugar
- 3 cups water
- 1 tsp green cardamom powder
Steps
- To make the syrup
- Mix the sugar and water in a large pot and bring to a boil
- Turn down the heat, add the cardamom powder and simmer for a few minutes
- To make the Jamuns
- Mix all the dry ingredients and use enough cream to make a soft dough. Do not knead
- Divide the dough into 60 small balls (Jamuns). Apply oil to your hands to keep the from sticking too much
- Heat oil in a fryer or a deep pan
- Fry the Jamuns until golden brown and keep aside on paper towels for 2-3 minutes
- Then place them in the syrup and allow them to soak for a while. They will become soft all the way through. Check one to confirm
- Transfer the soaked Jamuns into a different container to make space for the remaining Jamuns
